Join us for a 2-day workshop playing in clay! Sessions open for child & grownup pairs for hands on clay and play fun! Participants will get to experience throwing clay on the pottery wheel as well as creating handbuilt forms with texture tools. Instructor, Kelly Eckerle will guide the grownups to help the child. Clay, tools, glazes, and kiln firing is included.

Advanced Wheel Throwing for Adults
(Ages 16+)
Ready to push your wheel-throwing skills further? This six-week advanced class is designed for intermediate and experienced potters who want to refine their techniques, tackle individual projects, and learn new tips and tricks from professional potter Monte Young.
Rather than following a set project, you’ll have the freedom to choose what you want to make while receiving personalized instruction and guidance throughout the process.

Class Schedule Week 1 — February 3 Introductions, studio setup, supplies, and a demonstration of centering, opening, and pulling techniques with Monte. Week 2 — February 10 Begin your individual projects. Choose what you’d like to create and work one-on-one with Monte for guidance and troubleshooting. Week 3 — February 17 Finish initial projects and explore trimming tips and techniques with individual assistance. Week 4 — February 24 Continue developing individual projects and begin preparing finished work for glazing. Week 5 — March 3 Final wet-clay session. Complete individual projects and begin glazing. Week 6 — March 10 Complete all glazing and clean out your studio shelf. Students may continue starting new projects through Week 5. Week 6 is dedicated to glazing and studio cleanup. Class Details Monte Young will work with students to help refine existing skills and introduce techniques that can take your wheel throwing to the next level. Students are encouraged to choose projects that challenge and interest them, with individualized assistance throughout the class. Handbuilding assistance is available if desired, but the primary focus of this class is wheel throwing. Any unfinished projects or glazing must be completed during Open Studio. Additional Open Studio sessions are $20 per session.
