Elevate your watercolor practice with two rewarding beach painting sessions! Participants learn to render glorious skies, waves, sand, and more in watercolor using a variety of techniques. Participants learn and practice drawing fundamentals, such as seeing and rendering negative space, perspective techniques, and shading. (Grades 5-8)

In this weeklong class, participants learn a variety of watercolor techniques, including wash, gradient wash, mixing, and glazing. Participants experiment with salt, foam, and brush shapes, while learning to incorporate watercolor pencils into their paintings. Participants leave with many practice references and a few finished works of their choice. All materials provided. No previous experience necessary.

Monet My Way: Poplars on the Epte River

Paint the poplars that Monet adored! Instructor, Cathy Johnson, will guide participants, step-by-step, through the painting of one of Monet's most beloved subjects: the poplars along the Epte River. Participants will learn to render poplars, sky, water, and dappled light in fresh, bright colors. All materials provided. No experience necessary. Participants will leave with a finished painting ready for framing and/or gifting.
